About Me

Hello, thank you for checking out my blog.

I’m Rukshan Ranatunge. I have a degree in medicine and worked as a medical doctor for 2 years before starting my post graduate in Biomedical Informatics. Currently I’m following my master sin Biomedical Informatics at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

I’m currently working at the Health Information Unit at Ministry of Health Sri Lanka.

I’m interested in health informatics, health interoperability, and FHIR architecture. I helped to create the National Covid Health Information System (NCHIS) for Sri Lanka. It helped to navigate the pandemic by collecting and analysing data and generating epidemiologically valuable information, and helped the Ministry of Health and epidemiologists to make decisions on the pandemic in near real time.

I love following technology and startup news. I like to make something new whenever I’m free. Especially web apps.

I use this blog to write something new and express my ideas and experiences, whenever I’m free. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing.

I’m interested in working for a healthcare startup, or a company where I can contribute with my knowledge and experience in health informatics.
